General Meeting Minutes for September 11, 2007

    • Meeting held at Azalea Park Rec. Center

    • Called to order by Linda Pennington, President, at 6:35 PM

    • Officers: Tom Lashbrook, Vice President, Mark Pennington (Treasurer), Bob Walters (Ambassador), and Shannon Whitmore (Secretary) in attendance

    • 27 residents and visitors attended the meeting

 

 

·        Linda, Tom, and Larry were interviewed by Fox News prior to the meeting regarding graffiti in the neighborhood

·        Ron Roberts Office: Rebecca Leister

o       Handed out voter registration forms

o       Emergency preparedness month

o       County can help with mold issues

·        Toni Atkins Office: Kim Nguyen

o       Thursday night (13th)

·        City Heights community sign forum

·        Give ideas of what, where

·        RSVP if you want to come (contact Kim)

o       City Heights Community Convention

·        One stop shop for community members to meet with city staff

·        Other Announcements

o       Redevelopment (PAC) election

·        Karen is undecided as to whether she is running

·        Michael is up for reelection

o       Police dispatchers

·        Reports that some dispatchers are being rude/not being responsive

·        Call Kim (of Toni Atkin’s rep)

·        She will put you in touch with their supervisors

o       Tom and Sandy think the association should buy a community popcorn popper because the movie night was so popular.

·        A good one is about $500

·        Sandy found a place where we could get one for a couple of hundred less

·        Some discussion on whether it needed to go into the Parkster first.

1.      Tom H said we did not need to do this because we don’t strictly follow Robert’s Rules of Order

·        A vote was put forth and the motion carried with all 2 against

o       Mark put forth a proposal to put security cameras where problems exist

o       Facelift announcement

·        November 3

·        Marlboro area – 6-8 homes

·        PAC

1.      Gave 60K for the fall facelift, and 40K for the one next June

2.      Also gave 20K to project clean.

·        Could do another facelift in azalea park

1.      Proposals are being accepted

o       Saturday September 15th

·        Pool party at Tim and Andrew’s house

·        Just down the street from Tom and Larry’s

·        From 1-4: catering

o       Next APNA meeting: Tuesday October 9, 6:30 PM
