The
Parkster is a tool:
To
educate community members about important issues in our neighborhood.
To
encourage residents to take specific actions to better our community.
To
provide useful City and community resources.
To
generate volunteers by raising interest and promoting neighborhood
activities.
To
promote community living by promoting products and services of local
businesses.
Guidelines
for article submissions:
1.
Articles are to
be submitted by email to theparkster@azaleapark.org
2.
Deadline for
submissions will be the third Friday of each month.
3.
Contributing
article word count maximum: 200
4.
Editor may make
revisions for brevity if necessary.
5.
Focus of
contributions will be for the betterment and improved quality of life for the
Azalea Park community.
6.
All
contributions must adhere to basic journalistic code of ethics:
a.
Parkster
contributions should guard against inaccuracies, carelessness, bias or
distortion through emphasis, omission or technological manipulation. Contributors
must test accuracy of information from all sources and exercise care to avoid
inadvertent error. Deliberate distortion is never permissible.
b.
Make certain
that headlines, content, quotations and photos are not misrepresentative of
individual, group or issue. Contributors should not oversimplify or highlight
incidents out of context.
c.
Never
plagiarize.
d.
Contributors
will deny favored treatment to advertisers and special interests and resist any
pressure to influence news coverage or ad placement.
